Birdsboro Rotary Club Dinner
John, Michelle and Katie say a big "Thank You, Birdsboro
Rotary, for inviting us. We enjoyed our dinner and company very much."
HEART
for the Nations was invited by the Birdsboro Rotary Club to their dinner held at
the Reading Country Club on April 24, 2008. The members learned about the
mission of HEART and the desperate need for potable water in the third world.
The ceramic water filter was demonstrated on construction and use. The
reaction of the members was interest and enthusiasm. "The filter is so
simple in design . . . and it actually works! More people need to know about
it!" It is a marvelously simple design and requires no chemicals or
electricity to provide clean water. This simple ceramic water filter gets
the job done at a very affordable price.
John and Michelle White spoke on their plans to construct new
filter facilities in Africa and the necessity for an education program to be
implemented for the end users. The Whites are writing education booklets for the
children in each country in their own language so that the children who can read
can teach the parents how to use the filter.
In addition, in the Fall 2008 school year Michelle White has
plans to take a school program into the Boyertown School District and the
Governor Mifflin School District as a pilot project being developed at Princeton
University. The pilot project will teach students in junior and senior
high school about the ceramic water filter and its construction.
