How is the organization financed?

HEART for the Nations is funded by individual donations, grants, and local fundraising.  This funding is crucial for every step in the successful  establishment of factories in a new country or location::  1.analyzing the potential in a foreign country 2.a staff member to travel and train the potters 3.purchase of necessary equipment and supplies 4. development of educational materials 5. marketing and advertising for the new filter factory.

How can I volunteer?

Much of our volunteer work revolves around fundraising,  such as our Father's Day Card fundraiser, Fashion Show benefit, dinner benefit or other event.  If you cannot organize your own event you can help out at an already established sale or putting on a presentation to groups such as local service clubs. Volunteers with strong grant writing or computer skills are needed.

How do I become an active member?

Although HEART does not have "memberships" as such, a donation of $25 will get you into the data base to receive newsletters and other communication, and then one may involve oneself to whatever degree desired, such as

  • Receive updates on our programs

  • Receive our newsletter

  • Participate in annual meetings

  • Travel to Nicaragua and participate in a tour of facilities and local potter communities

Can you come and speak to my group, school class, or church about your project?

To come and speak to your group we require that you pay for all our travel expenses. In addition we would like a donation to HEART for the Nations to support our work.  The best outcome would be for your group to help us in some fundraising activity. Call John White at 610-689-08087

How do I get a water filter?

Filters are available through an importer of Nicaraguan pottery. A Different Approach, www.adifferentapproach.com.  Filters are not approved by the FDA and are offered in the U.S. for research purposes only.
